Don’t be nervous! The American Career College admissions process is straight-forward—and your college admissions advisor will walk you through every step of the process.

Our first rule about asking questions, is, never hesitate to ask a question. Your Admissions Advisor will have all the details about each career college program and will talk you through the admissions requirements and college application process.

Transcripts

Unofficial copies of transcripts are free
Official transcripts are $5 per copy and are available at the registrar’s offices

Here’s how the process works:

Visit a career college campus and meet with an Admissions Advisor. This is an important first step. We encourage you to bring your family and involve them in the process.
Fill out an American Career College Admissions Form.
If you have your High School diploma or equivalent, you'll need to take the Wonderlic SLE entrance evaluation exam as one of the college entrance requirements. The Wonderlic SLE covers topics like basic math and English, and the required scores vary by program.
If you're interested in either the Vocational Nursing program or Respiratory Therapy program, you'll need to take the HESI exam in addition to the Wonderlic SLE. The HESI exam covers subjects relevant to health care training, and applicants must earn a score of 70% or higher.

High School Equivalency

HSE stands for High School Equivalency, and is a nationally recognized certificate of high school equivalency. The High School Equivalency (HSE) exam consists of five tests over two days: Writing, Social Studies, Science, Mathematics, and Reading.

At ACC, we want to do everything we can to help you succeed. We partnered up with the HSE Academy which offers a no-cost High School Equivalency (HSE) Preparation Program that is designed to help you do your best on your High School Equivalency (HSE) exam. HSE Academy offers High School Equivalency (HSE) preparation and practice testing in a comfortable, safe, classroom environment.

HSE Academy will work with you to set up an individualized schedule to help you prepare.

HSE Academy will also supply teaching, tutoring and take-home study materials, all at no cost. If necessary, we will refer you to a public adult school for added help. Click here to learn more.

HSE Academy preparation program is not offered by or taught by American Career College.
HSE Academy is not accredited by ABHES.
While HSE Academy does offer no-cost HSE Test preparation program, choosing the HSE Academy program to fulfill the high school equivalency admissions requirement is in no way required to enroll at American Career College.
There are many HSE Test preparation programs in the State of California. Be sure to research and compare different programs before making a final decision.
